Le Blé d'Or
Project Name: Le Blé d'Or
Date: 2014
Client: Le Blé d'Or
Location: New Taipei City, Taiwan
In 2014, MINIWIZ was set the challenge by Le Blé d'Or, one of the best beer producers and restaurateurs in Taiwan, to open a new restaurant using entirely post-consumer waste combined with the waste of spent grain from their beer manufacturing.
This was the first attempt of the brand to add a variety of functionality to their restaurants/breweries such as wine classrooms, exhibition halls, and tea area. Playing with the codes previously set by the brand, the store features a complex fusion of traditional black tones, wood and glass bottle elements with light recycled materials.
In the entrance, the Polli-Ber™ Brick Wall System set the tone. The semi-opaque leveled surface, with its gold-brownish shade, creates a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. The multi-circular shaped ceiling elevates the senses of the guests while reminding beer as one of the specialties of Le Blé d’Or.
Directly related to the theme of the restaurant and demonstrating the circular economy design principle in this amazing project, the main material developed (entrance walls, ceiling, chairs) is a biocomposite of recycled material PP injected with hop and wheat husks issued from wastes of beer brewing.
