Another prestigious project briefed by Nike, made out of one piece of fully re-recyclable PET fabric covering an entire basketball court, Area 13 (erected in the 13th District of Taipei) was installed on a parking lot in the heart of the capital city for Nike in the summer 2013. The architecture grade, water and UV resistance outdoor usage fabric was suspended from 2 cranes and anchored to the floor with metal pillars, the Big Top was installed within a day and remained on site for an entire month, hosting NBA games and other events organized by Nike.
The hanging system combined with the articulated columns enabled to fold down the umbrella and fix it close to the ground. This made Area 13 survive the typhoon season without any damage.
