Material: Plyfix™
Inspired by the carbon-based nicotine molecule’s cellular structure, MINIWIZ’s Plyfix™ Tetrapod™ is a scalable, reusable, non-intrusive modular system for interior installations and multifunctional applications.
The Tetrapod™ system is made entirely with the circular economy technology and engineered with MINIWIZ’s newest material innovation Plyfix™, a high-performance felt-like sheet made of recycled PET processed from post-consumer plastic bottles.
One Tetrapod™ is composed of four three-dimensionally curved pieces of Plyfix™ and 12 Tetrapods create a dodecahedral cell. Its strong molecular structure reinterprets the efficiency of the traditional tetrahedral concrete structures used as armor units on breakwaters, honoring the past yet embracing the future with the Tetrapod units ability to mutually interlock to create smart and adjustable structures.
Thanks to its built-in electronics, a Plyfix™ Tetrapod unit can carry out air purification, lightning with adjustable color temperature, playback music with integrated speakers; all Wi-Fi controllable from anywhere, individually or as a group. This allows heritage architecture to become modern venues without major renovation or intrusion.
